Movie Poster Redesign for Troy.

Deconstructivism movie poster redesign using symbolic elements from the movie, Troy.

Overview

Overview

For this assignment, we were tasked with designing a movie poster for a film of our choice, but in a design style that wouldn't typically be associated with it. I selected the historical epic Troy and chose to reinterpret it through the lens of deconstructivism, a style known for its fragmented, abstract, and unconventional approach to composition. To capture the essence of the film without relying on traditional imagery, I incorporated symbolic elements such as the Trojan horse and an arrow, using abstract forms and dynamic composition to create a sense of mystery and intrigue.

The goal was to evoke curiosity while maintaining a minimalist, thought-provoking aesthetic that encourages viewers to interpret the visuals rather than presenting the story outright. This project challenged me to think beyond conventional movie poster design and explore how form, symbolism, and abstraction can communicate a narrative in unexpected ways.
